As a first time visitor to RJD Correctional Facility, the following information will assist you.
Visitors are allow to enter prison grounds at 7:30 am. When you drive into the facility, you will be stopped at GATE to present a valid I.D. or D.L.
Visitors can now park at the facility they are visiting instead of Su Casa. Su Casa is still open, operating, and available to all visitor awaiting their appointment times. For Facility E Visiting, visitors will make an immediate right turn after the Gate House and park in the designated back row parking area.
For Facility A, B, C, D, and MSF, Visitors can now park in front of Visitor Processing in the designated parking area. You will stand in line according to your scheduled VPASS appointment time. There are additional lines for NON-CONTACT and WALK-UP VISITORS.
Check-In and Property Check
Once in processing centers, You will remain in line until called to the counter by a correctional officer. The officer will ask for your ID/DL and your loved ones CDC number. If you are bringing minors, you must have their certified birth certificate. If you are not the legal guardian you must also have a notarized consent form from the legal guardian.
Once you have been checked in by a correctional officer, the officer will provide you with a form that contains a picture of your loved one, their information as well as your information.The CO will write the yard you are visiting on the paper . You will then proceed to the property check line.
Once called by a CO, you will place your belongings in the bin provided to you. This includes any jackets, sweaters, shoes, belts and money bags. The officer will inspect all items and count your money. The officer will also visually scan your clothing for appropriate attire. If your closing is deemed inappropriate, you will be asked to leave and change clothes. IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED TO HAVE EXTRA CLOTHES IN YOUR CAR. Friends Outside is also available for loaner clothes.
You will be instructed to walk through the metal detector. YOU MUST CLEAR THE METAL DETECTOR IN ORDER TO VISIT. Once you clear the metal detector, you will be given the bin containing your belongings, your right wrist will be stamped, the CO will call your loved ones housing unit to notify him to report to visiting. Your pass will be given to you.
You will remain in the waiting area until released by a CO to your visiting yard. Yards Minimum, B and C will be transported by bus to their visiting yards.
You will present your pass and identification to the officer and be assigned seating.
